Change of Clinical System

The Village Surgery will be changing the clinical system used within the practice.  This system will go live on the 19th June.  We thank patients for their patience during the change over period.

The Village Surgery will be using the clinical system ‘SystmOne’ which allows integrated care with other healthcare organisations who also use the system, such as hospitals and district nurses, to help improve patient care.  To find out more about how SystmOne affects your care please follow the link below.

Named accountable GP for all patients

You may be aware that all practices are required to provide all their patients, including children, with a named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that their surgery provides to them.  All patients at this practice have a named GP, to find out who your named GP is please visit us in practice or give us a call on 01670 712 821.

FAQs

Can patients choose their own named GP?

In the first instance, patients should simply be allocated a named GP. However, if a patient requests a particular GP, reasonable efforts should be made to accommodate their preference, recognising that there are occasions when the practice may not feel the patient’s preference is suitable.

Do patients have to see the named GP when they book an appointment with the practice?

No. Patients can and should feel free to choose to see any GP or nurse in the practice in line with current arrangements.

Village Surgery patients can take advantage of the NHS Electronic Prescription Service from 22nd September 2015!

As of Tuesday 22nd September patients at The Village Surgery will be able to use the NHS Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).

What this means for you

If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription. Instead, your GP will send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time.

You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop, or sent directly to your home.

For more information on the NHS EPS you can visit the Health & Social Care Information Centre Website; download their Patient Information Summary Sheet; or view or own EPS Patient Information Leaflet which can also be picked up in surgery.

Village Surgery Prescription Service and EPS

When signing up to EPS you can nominate the pharmacy of your choice, this includes our own Village Surgery Prescription Service. Some testimonials from current patients signed up to the service can be viewed below.
